Quickchannel Cookies

Cookies in Quickchannel are used to enhance the user experience and to deliver the service correctly.

Quickchannel uses Local storage to store some values on your computer. Those values will not expire after a certain interval (unlike cookies) meaning they will have to be cleared manually if needed. Quickchannel will not set values in Local storage unless you have allowed for cookies on this site.

Certain content producers allow you to retract your cookie consent without manually clearing your browser data. In those cases a link with the wording "Retract cookie consent" (or similar, in respective language) to apprear in the footer of player and play channel pages. If the link is not present in the footer, it is still possible to retract cookie consent by clearing your browser data.

Player Cookies

Storage: As cookie, and in browser local storage
Usage: Identifying unique users, remembering credentials when re-visiting program. The value is a reandomly generated string.
Retention: The value is stored for a year
If cookies are not allowed: A new value is generated on each page load. Credentials will (if required) have to be entered on each page load

cookies_consent

Storage: As cookie, and in browser local storage
Usage: Determining if the viewer has agreed to storing data in cookies and local storage. Simply stores "true" if user has consented
Retention: The value is stored for a year
If cookies are not allowed: Cookies consent message will appear on every page load

filmid_watched

Storage: Local storage
Usage: Storing which timestamp in the program the viewer last viewed, in order to skip to that timestamp when loading a previously watched programed again.
Retention: The value is stored permanently (until manually removed)
If cookies are not allowed: The player will always start the program from the beginning when reloading the player
